My day, and in my mind right now

FOR TODAY

Outside my window... Drizzly rainy day, and the trees are in fall color.

I am thinking... Of ways to help keep chores school and swim team managed.

I am thankful... For today, a new chance to be better than I was the day before.

In the kitchen... Right now, coffee is brewing, and toast is cooking. For dinner is grilled cheese and tomato soup. Possiably some baking of cookies or quick bread later.

I am wearing...Capri yoga pants, big old swim team shirt, my fuzzy fleece, and my lime green converse. (Which are amazing and I love so much)

I am creating... I am planning on creating a chapter a day Bible schedule for the books of Nehmiah, Ester, Job and Psalms. Also a chore chart so my sister (Gabby) and I can work on keeping the house cleaner.

I am going... Later to swim practice to work hard for some new goals I just made for swimming.

I am wondering... How to get it all done! Ugh!

I am reading... Tom Sawyer for school. :/ Yuck! I already read it, and I (personally) have a very hard time re-reading a book.

I am hoping... To complete all my school today and clean my room

I am looking forward to... Bed tonight. Ha!

I am learning.... Structure and function in Biology, unit review in Geography for an upcoming test about the Middle East, the definitions of polygons in Geometry, active vs passive voice in Language arts, and I will start an Economy 101 course today.

Around the house... Laundry and cleaning, and school. The norm.

A favorite quote for today... "There is no charm equal to tenderness of heart."Jane Austen

One of my favorite things... Rainy days, with a great book, and a cup of hot mint tea!

A few plans for the rest of the week:  Basically school, swimming, avoiding trick or treaters, working in the yard, and possiably a bonfire

A peek into my day... My stack of school books and papers, which will be my *best* friends today! (sarcasm)

Thank you for reading!

A Daybook Entry!

Today I joined from Peggy from The simple woman's daybook! I hope to join her every once in awhile, when I can!

Outside my window... I see the sun shining through a cloudy day!

I am thinking... of all the school, cleaning, and events going on this week.

From the learning rooms...  I am doing a 10 week course on the Constitution from Hillsdale College, Biology, Spanish, creative writing, analyzing music and lyrics ect.

I am thankful for... the chance to get up every morning to swim!

From the kitchen... my mom is working on putting together her cooking class, which is tonight!

I am wearing... my sweats, t-shirt, and a fleece, with socks! Kinda one of those lazy days!

I am reading... Abrham's Well by Sharon Ewell Foster! I really am enjoying this story!

I am hoping... that I will get sudden energy to get through with the rest of the day!

I am creating... this blog post! I am thinking of starting an art journal, but I'm not sure.

I am hearing... my mom's Pandora radio station on and the hum of our oven heating up.

Around the house...  my mom is cleaning, and getting ready for her class.

One of my favorite things... is newly painted nails! I recently did mine with a neon green base with a black crackle coat on top! I love them!

A few plans for the rest of the week... are going to the new Kauffman Center for a tour, and later in the week going to a homeschool group meeting, where my mom and I will be teaching preschoolers where food comes from! Wish us luck!

Have a good day everyone!

Long time, no post.

Yikes! My last post was in February. Wow! I am sorry for not posting. For a while I didn’t know what to post, then I had some ideas, then I forgot and then life got busy. Well how is everyone? I am pretty sure people stopped checking my blog. LOL ;) I am good. Swim season is ALMOST here!! School is about over, one more week or so.  *happy dance* I like school, but I am tired of what I am working on now and I want to move on. I am thinking about re-joining the “Miscellany Monday”. What do you want me to write about? Leave a comment,  and tell me. That honestly is the hardest part. I have things to write, but they are random and mundane. When does everyone finish up school for the year?

Well I have no more to write that’s on my mind. Remember to comment and tell me what you want me to write about.

A quote that I like

“Swimming is a sport. Everything else is just a game.”

Here are some random pictures that I took and edited...

Miscellany Monday

Miscellany Monday @ lowercase letters
1) I passed my spelling test with 28/30 or 93%!
2) This weekend I tried very hard to be productive but instead I just relaxed, but I did some of the things on my list this weekend.
3) I have had a busy couple of weeks, which is a reason I have not posted. I have not had the time (or more likely not MADE the time) to post but I have had several ideas that might come soon!
4) Brownie batter waffles are simply outstanding! All you have to do is take a brownie mix (you can also make your own batter) and put on your waffle iron and you have yourself brownie waffles! The recipe we used said to not put the water in the mix but we did anyway, we enjoyed them that way, but we did have trouble getting the waffles off the iron without falling apart.
5) I have started my swim conditioning sessions and I am about 3 weeks into my 6 week session! Then I will start another 6 weeks session and the finally 3 weeks before I start swim team and I see all my friends I made from last year!

Miscellany Moday! =D

Miscellany Monday @ lowercase letters

1) I am so happy that the Green Bay Packers won the Super Bowl! YAY!! Normally the team I cheer for loses so this was a big surprise to me.

2) Also on Super Bowl Sunday, I participated in an indoor Triathlon to help raise money for my swim team. The objective is to earn money for matching team swimsuits and some other equipment that will help our team. It was very fun and I loved having the friendly competition.

3)I am enjoying the cold weather here! I love having snow to look at, but I don’t like to get into it. It is just too cold! I heard another snow is going to come to us in the Midwest soon!

4) What are your plans for the week? I think we will be going over to my grandparents sometime this week and just school and swimming as always. Maybe I can get in a trip to the library. ;)

5)I can’t believe Valentine’s Day is just a couple of weeks away! Time passes so quickly! We have already had our homeschool Valentine's Party! WOW!

Well I hope you have a wonderful day!

Swimming!

I love to swim! Swimming is now a big part of my life. I love the feeling of accomplishment when I swim 2000yds or I master a stroke. I love the rush and excitement of a meet. I love to dive into the un-touched surface of the pool. I love the feeling of cool water rushing over my body. How slick I feel gliding through the water. I like the weird feeling of my body aching and my legs feeling like jell-o. I never would have thought that I would have liked to swim. I fought with my parents about joining swim team for a good year or so. The first day I was so nervous, my legs were shaking. Then I met the coaches. They were all so nice to us newbie’s. They taught us more than I ever learned in my life but they did that in 3 days. The first meet was a trial meet so it was just our team, but I think I learned so much in that day. After that meet I was hooked. We went to every meet and now I am working myself up for June swim team! Weird, huh? It is January, a long time away from summer, but I am slowly growing into faster sprints and more distance. I am working to improve my stroke. I am reading a book about swimming for my bed time, it’s an easy read. Some people would call me crazy, but I don’t care. I believe if you find something you love you should follow it and give it your all. I don’t swim for ribbons or pride, I swim for my own enjoyment. Yeah, I do have high goals that someday maybe I will get a college scholarship from swimming. Everyone wishes for a free way to college, right?

I think you should do everything in your power to follow your dream, whatever that may be.
Have a good day!
