Swimming!

I love to swim! Swimming is now a big part of my life. I love the feeling of accomplishment when I swim 2000yds or I master a stroke. I love the rush and excitement of a meet. I love to dive into the un-touched surface of the pool. I love the feeling of cool water rushing over my body. How slick I feel gliding through the water. I like the weird feeling of my body aching and my legs feeling like jell-o. I never would have thought that I would have liked to swim. I fought with my parents about joining swim team for a good year or so. The first day I was so nervous, my legs were shaking. Then I met the coaches. They were all so nice to us newbie’s. They taught us more than I ever learned in my life but they did that in 3 days. The first meet was a trial meet so it was just our team, but I think I learned so much in that day. After that meet I was hooked. We went to every meet and now I am working myself up for June swim team! Weird, huh? It is January, a long time away from summer, but I am slowly growing into faster sprints and more distance. I am working to improve my stroke. I am reading a book about swimming for my bed time, it’s an easy read. Some people would call me crazy, but I don’t care. I believe if you find something you love you should follow it and give it your all. I don’t swim for ribbons or pride, I swim for my own enjoyment. Yeah, I do have high goals that someday maybe I will get a college scholarship from swimming. Everyone wishes for a free way to college, right?

I think you should do everything in your power to follow your dream, whatever that may be.
Have a good day!
Claire
